Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) has called the attack on two federal agents in Mexico a "game changer" and said the United States should respond to acts of violence against our citizens with force.
McCaul identified the cartel responsible for the attack as the Zetas, and said cartel members knew Special Agents Jaime Zapata and Victor Avilia of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement were Americans. The agents identified themselves as U.S. diplomats, after stopping at a military style checkpoint, while traveling between Mexico City and Monterrey.
