Tennessee Police End Standoff with Armed Men Barricaded in Home, 3 in Custody
Police Spokesman Don Aaron with the Metro Nashville (TN) Police Department said that two adults and three minor girls—ages 10, 14 and 17—were inside the home at the time of the invasion. They all managed to escape.
Three suspects are in custody after Nashville police responded to a home invasion in the Madison area Tuesday, reports the Tennessean.
Police initially believed four armed men broke into the home occupied by two adults and three girls ages 10, 14, and 17 at around 9 a.m., according to Metro Nashville Police Department spokesman Don Aaron.
When police arrived, suspects barricaded themselves in the home, according to police.
Two suspects were taken into custody Tuesday afternoon, police announced on social media. A third suspect forced SWAT team personnel to go into the attic. That suspect was also taken into custody. It wasn't immediately known if there was another suspect at large.
The adult male who lives at the home phoned police after the break in occurred. Police responded to the home in about a minute or less, Aaron said.
All five victims were able to flee when police came to the front of the home, while the suspects went to the rear and encountered police in the back, according to Aaron.
Police used a public address system to demand the suspects surrender, Aaron said.
