Suspicious Person in Custody at Central Connecticut State University

The mayor of New Britain, Conn., says a person is in custody after a report of an armed man on the campus of Central Connecticut State University on Monday that prompted a temporary schoolwide lockdown, reports Fox News .

Shortly after Tim O'Brien made the announcement, the school's Twitter account posted a message giving an "all clear" and told students that they can now leave buildings.

Classes and events at the university have been canceled for the day.

Earlier, the school's website declared a campus emergency and warned students to stay away from windows and stay inside buildings as police SWAT teams swarmed the area.
