Streamlight Inc. introduced four X Series weapon-mounted flashlights at the Police Security Expo trade show this week, including the Scorpion X, NightfighterX, TL-2 X and Super Tac X.
The new X models are part of the Tactical Series personal lights and use C4 LED technology. Each also features a strobing function for signaling other personnel or disorienting potential suspects.
"Streamlight's Tactical Series lights are designed to give users a clear advantage during confrontations or on patrol under low-light conditions," according to Ray Sharrah, Streamlight's president and chief executive. "The X models use next-generation LED technology to deliver extreme brightness, giving users more options depending on their operating environment."
The new X models feature a C4 LED with a 50,000 hour lifetime, and deliver up to 200 lumens measured system output and 40,000 candela, which is the brightest spot of a focused beam.
The Super Tac X also uses a deep-dish parabolic reflector to produce a long-range targeting beam with optimum peripheral illumination to aid in navigation. Each model features a high- and low-intensity mode. The new X models provide up to 2.5 hours of run time on the highest setting, and up to 50 hours of run time on the lowest setting. Each uses two 3-volt, CR123A lithium batteries.
The X lights were introduced at the Police Security Expo, which was held at the Atlantic City Convention Center in New Jersey from June 21-22.
