The Carson City County (Nev.) Sheriff described a gunman's killing of four people at an IHOP restaurant this week as "the most devastating attack in Carson City's history."
The town was "shocked to the core" by Tuesday's attack, added Sheriff Kenny Furlong.
The motivation for 32-year-old Eduardo Sencion's attack remains murky. Sencion used an AK-47 to fatally shoot three National Guard members eating breakfast, as well as Florence Donovan-Gunderson, 67. Those killed included Sgt. 1st Class Miranda McElhiney, 31; Sgt. 1st Class Christian Riege, 38; and Major Heath Kelly, 35.
Sencion wounded seven others, before taking his own life. It's not known whether Sencion was targeting the National Guard members.
