S&W Introduces Six 1911 E-Series Pistols

Smith & Wesson will introduce six 1911 E-Series pistols that are machined to exacting tolerances and built with a variety of custom features. The 1911 E-Series pistols are designed with a new precision hand-fit trigger and are available in both traditional grips and round-butt models.

Smith & Wesson, which began producing 1911 pistols in 2005, will introduce six 1911 E-Series pistols in the centennial of the birth of John Moses Browning's sidearm. The newly enhanced pistols that are machined to exacting tolerances and built with a variety of custom features, according to the company.

The 1911 E-Series pistols are designed with a new precision hand-fit trigger and are available in both traditional grips and round-butt models.

The E-Series features two new pistols with Smith & Wesson's patented scandium alloy frame. The SW1911Sc is available with either a black Melonite or two-tone finish with a round-butt frame and 4.25-inch barrel for convenient carrying.

Chambered in .45 ACP, the SW1911Sc shares other standard E-Series features such as a precision-fit trigger, oversize extractor and combat ejector port.

Additional standard features include a titanium firing pin, fish-scale grip points on the front and rear of the slide and a recessed muzzle crown. With its stainless steel slide and scandium alloy frame, the SW1911Sc measures 7.9 inches in overall length and has an unloaded weight of 29.9 ounces.

Other distinct features on the SW1911Sc include a detailed slide rib designed to reduce glare along with serrations down the back of the slide and around the grip for improved handling. On the top of the slide, the SW1911Sc sports a front and rear tritium night sight for low-light applications.

The E-Series pistols also arrive with an ambidextrous safety and wooden laminate grips. The pistols will be shipped with a flat butt plate, seven-round magazine, standard butt plate, and eight-round magazine.
