After learning that a K-9 dog named Jordon was shot in the chest during a standoff between Salem (N.J.) Police and a suspect on on Wednesday, staffers from the animal-rights group PETA are chipping in and sending a contribution to the Salem County K-9 Association, the group announced.
The association had requested donations to help pay for the dog's medical care. PETA is also sending Jordan a basket of dog treats and toys to make his recovery more pleasant.
