Police arrested Sammie Eaglebear Chavez, 18, on Friday for allegedly planning to carry out a shooting and bombing attack at his high school. The arrest occurred only a few hours before the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting in Connecticut.
Authorities allege the suspect attempted to recruit his classmates at Bartlesville High School to help him lure other students into the school auditorium where he would then shoot them after chaining the doors shut, reports the Associated Press . Chavez also planned on placing bombs at the doors that he would detonate when the police arrived. The affidavit claims he tried to obtain diagrams of the school.
