U.S. customs agents seized more than $500,000 in cocaine from a false compartment of the fuel tank of a Ford F150 truck at a border checkpoint in Nogales, Ariz.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers on Sunday recorded the seizure of cocaine valued at $567,700, after a canine alerted them to narcotics hidden in a 2000 Ford F150 truck driven by a 26-year-old Mexican national.
During a secondary inspection, officers noticed discrepancies in the fuel tank. A canine alerted to the presence of narcotics, leading to the discovery of 26 packages of cocaine weighing more than 60 pounds. The subject was arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
