N.J. SWAT Team Subdues Suicidal Intestine Tosser

A Hackensack, N.J., man who stabbed himself and threw pieces of his intestines at responding officers said he wanted to die and was going to heaven, reports NorthJersey.com.
The man, who has been hospitalized for psychiatric care in the past, likely survived the incident because of the quick actions of the Bergen County Police Department's SWAT team.
Tactical officers who arrived on the scene went off the playbook, after several attempts to subdue him with less-lethal force weren't successful. Officers used pepper spray, sprayed his face with water from a fire extinguisher, and fired 13 40mm "sponge rounds" at Wayne Carter, 44, on May 27.
Officers used a 6-foot fire ladder to pin Carter against a wall, and dog snares were used to immobilize Carter's hands, Devine said. Officers then dived toward Carter, pinned his legs, and handcuffed him. SWAT doctors and paramedics quickly took over.
