If you have historical law enforcement items you’re willing to donate, you could see them in the National Law Enforcement Museum. The museum is asking the public to submit authentic law enforcement memorabilia to add to its permanent collection.

Scheduled to open its doors in 2009, the museum is currently collecting items from the 17th century to the present that will help tell the story of American law enforcement. Items currently being sought include uniforms, gear, equipment, communications tools, badges, vehicles, and weapons; pieces of evidence used for the first time or in significant cases utilizing forensic methodology; evidence from significant 19th and 20th century crimes; objects or documents from notable law enforcement officers; textbooks and training manuals; items showing law enforcement in pop culture; and law enforcement publications, unpublished memoirs, and photographs.
