The National Bike Registry’s Official Bike Registration Station gives police free, password-protected access to the registry’s more than 300,000 registered bicycles, nationwide. This is a way to protect bikes in the local community and reunite recovered stolen bicycles with their owners.

By becoming an NBR Official Bike Registration Station, police departments can use NBR instead of designing and implementing their own bike registration systems, which may be costly and time-consuming. NBR can also complement existing local bike registration programs. The registry’s national scope enables it to work across local and state borders, allowing police to match bikes to owners no matter where they were stolen and recovered.

Participating police departments receive an NBR Official Bike Registration window decal, bike registration forms, posters, public relations support, bike safety materials, and other information. This allows them to promote the program and register bikes in their community at safety fairs, bike rodeos, rallies, and other events.
