Miss. Chief Killed Directing Traffic

A small-town Mississippi police chief and part-time deputy was killed Tuesday morning while directing traffic at the main intersection in town.

Randy Boykin, chief of the Enterprise Police Department and a deputy with Clarke County Sheriff's Department, died while being flown to the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Boykin, 51, was struck at about 7:30 a.m.

The female driver of the Dodge Charger that struck Boykin stopped to render assistance at the scene, reports WTOK . Boykin has been chief of the department of 12 years.
