Maine Becomes Sixth State to Sign Constitutional Carry Bill

Legislative Document 652 will now allow Maine citizens over the age of 21 to carry a firearm without possessing a government permission slip, better known as a concealed carry permit.

Maine has officially joined the ranks of five other states recognizing law-abiding citizens' right to bear arms, as Governor Paul Lepage (R) signed the bill into law on Wednesday, reports Buzzpo .

Legislative Document 652 will now allow citizens over the age of 21 to carry a firearm without possessing a government permission slip, better known as a concealed carry permit.

Felons and violent criminals, however, are still prevented from carrying a gun. In order to be in compliance with the new law, the carrier must be legally able to own a gun to carry the gun.
