LMT Introduces Two Modular Rifles

The LM8MWS and LM8MRP arrive with four versatile rail segments, including the 4-rail (1.4 inches), 6-rail (2.1 inches), 8-rail (3 inches), and 10-rail (3.8 inches). Lewis Machine & Tool Co. (LMT) has introduced the LM8MRP and LM8MWS rifles that employ the company's modular LM8 platform.

The LM8MWS and LM8MRP arrive with four versatile rail segments, including the 4-rail (1.4 inches), 6-rail (2.1 inches), 8-rail (3 inches), and 10-rail (3.8 inches). The LM8 platform updates LMT's benchmark monolithic rail platform, making it lighter, smaller, slimmer and more maneuverable, according to the company.

The LM8MWS is built on a LM308MWS lower with a SOPMOD butt-stock and a two-stage trigger. The upper receiver has either a 1:10 twist, chrome-lined barrel or a 1:11.35 twist in an ultra-match stainless 5R tactical black matte finish barrel.

The semi-auto bolt carrier group and tactical charging handle assembly come standard. The LM8MWS ships with a sling, adjustable rear and front sight, 20-round magazine, torque wrench/driver, four rail-segments, and two push-button swivels. It retails for $2,998 and up.

The LM8MRP is built on a LMT Defender lower with a SOPMOD butt-stock and standard trigger group. The LM8MRP upper receiver barrel is a 16-inch chrome-lined, 1:7 twist, in 5.56mm. The semi-auto bolt carrier group and tactical charging handle assembly come standard. The LM8MRP ships with a sling, adjustable front and rear sights, 30-round magazine, torque wrench/driver, four rail segments and two push button swivels. It retails for $2,030 and up.
