LE Firearms Instructor Makes Finals in 'Top Shot' TV Show

Police firearms instructor Chris Cerino came in a close second on the weapon skills competition TV show " Top Shot " on The History Channel. The show required contestants to prove their skills in everything from muzzle-loading muskets and modern pistols to slingshots and throwing knives.

With 18 years in law enforcement, Cerino is a full-time military and police firearms instructor in Ohio with a background in tactical operations. Although he doesn't compete formally, Chris took second place in the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association   shooting competition in Chicago. He is also experienced with compound bows, crossbows, and slingshots.

In the season finale, the final four contestants competed to determine the winner of the $100,000 prize and the title of Top Shot. In the final challenge, Cerino faced off against ultimate winner Iain Harrison in a lengthy challenge testing skills with multiple weapons in succession: throwing knives, long bow, Colt pistol, lever-action Winchester long rifle, Beretta 92F, AR-15, and an M14.

Cerino was proud of his overall performance in the competition, and he was happy to return home to his wife at the end.

The second season of Top Shot is currently in production.
