L-Tron Corporation's new promotion offers savings to public safety agencies for the purchase of L-Tron’s 4910LR Driver’s License Reader. The 4910LR works hand-in-hand with electronic citation (eCitation) systems to drastically improve accuracy and efficiency.

In 2014, L-Tron’s popular trade-in promotion resulted in recycling hundreds of outdated PDF 417 driver’s license readers. L-Tron’s current Spring 2015 promotion has two components. First, for agencies that have trade-in DL scanners, L-Tron is offering $30 off the purchase of a 4910LR for each trade-in. Additionally, for agencies that do not have old scanners to trade-in, L-Tron is offering a $15 instant rebate off the purchase price of each 4910LR. The promotion will run through June 5, 2015.

What makes the 4910LR DL Reader so special? The rugged, yet compact Driver’s License Reader is designed specifically for patrol cars, featuring a user-friendly radio microphone form-factor that is easily stowed on a mic clip when not in use. There are multiple types of data that the 4910LR can capture at traffic stops, accident scenes and incident scenes. It instantly reads all barcodes including AAMVA standard driver’s license and registration data. The red LED backlight and visible green LED aiming beam provide contrast scanning while preserving night vision and work equally well in bright sunlight.

The image-capturing features include:

  • Ink on paper, such as signature capture, accident scene sketches, and fingerprints.

  • Gray scale image capture used for false ID presented, driver’s license in frame with speed results, or any other basic photo requirements, eliminating the need to carry a camera.

The 4910LR is compatible with more eCitation and incident reporting software applications. Honeywell Adaptus 6.0 technology provides barcode scanning that can handle the latest changes in Adaptus technology and the various density barcodes in any state. L-Tron has deployed eCitation DL scanners in 40 states.
