The Boyle County (KY) Sheriff's Office reports that one of its K-9s was killed in a vehicle crash Tuesday.
The collision happened at approximately 2:45 PM on U.S. 150. Police say Deputy Casey McCoy was turning left onto the bypass when his cruiser was hit on the right side by a pickup truck, WKYT reports.
Deputy McCoy suffered a hand injury in the crash and was treated and released from the hospital. K-9 Nikki, a nine-year-old Belgian Malinois, was badly injured and died while receiving veterinary treatment.
