Officers serving warrants arrested 19 Hells Angels members in North Carolina and South Carolina on Thursday and charged them with 91 counts of operating a criminal conspiracy, the FBI announced.

During the raids, federal and local officers seized methamphatamine, cocaine, marijuana, pills, and approximately 100 firearms, including two automatic machine guns. In all, 23 warrants were served.

"By working in a joint environment with federal, state, and local counterparts, we send a clear message that such pervasive criminal activities will not be tolerated, said David Thomas, the FBI's special agent in charge in Columbia, S.C.

The arrests were the result of a two-year investigation, which was directed by the South Carolina Hells Angels Task Force (SCHATF), that targeted the Rock Hell City Nomad Chapter of the Hells Angels. In addition to conspiracy, the defendants have been charged with narcotics violations, Hobbs Act robbery, money laundering, and firearm violations.

Those arrested included Daniel Eugene Bifield (Diamond Dan); Mark William Baker (Lightning); David Channing Oiler (Gravel Dave); Bruce James Long (Bruce-Bruce); Richard Thrower (Rat); David Pryor (Yard Owl); James Frederick Keach, Jr. (Big Fred); Frank Enriquez, Jr. (Big Frank); Donald Boersma (Brooklyn Donnie); Johanna Looper (JoJo); Ronald Dean Byrum, Jr. (Big Ron); Bruce Ranson Wilson (Diesel); Thomas McManus Plyler (Uncle Tom); and Somying Anderson (Ying).

Participating agencies included the Lexington County (S.C.) Sheriff's Department; Lexington (S.C.) Police Department; Rock Hill (S.C.) Police Department; York County (S.C.) Sheriff's Office; Lancaster County (S.C) Sheriff's Office; Gastonia (N.C.) Police Department; Charlotte-Mecklenburg (N.C.) Police Department; and the Gaston County (N.C.) Sheriff's Office.
