A Gwinnett County (Ga.) Police SWAT team shot and killed a man who had taken five firefighters hostage earlier Wednesday.
The firefighters had responded to a medical call at the home of a man who took them captive at gunpoint. The suspect released one of the firefighters to move a truck, and held the others for several hours, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution .
The man, whose home had been bank-owned since November, had demanded his power and cable be turned back on at the home in the Suwanee home about 35 miles northeast of Atlanta. The hostages were released with only minor injuries.
