Fobus Recalls Holsters for Causing Accidental Firings

Eight incidents of a gun holster retention strap catching the trigger and causing it to discharge have prompted Fobus USA to recall 3,200 holsters.

The Fobus USA Holster Division of First Samco Inc. is recalling an earlier version of its Fobus GLT holsters for Glock 17 and 19 handguns.

The holster, sold between March 2002 and March 2003, was designed with a narrow leather or plastic retention strap that can enter the trigger guard when a gun is inserted. The newer version of the holster has a wider strap with a plastic tip that prevents it from entering the trigger guard and causing accidental discharge.

Owners should stop using the holster immediately and return it to a Fobus USA distributor for a free replacement holster. Contact First Samco for instructions. For more information, visit www.fobusholster.com.
