Emergency Communications Network (ECN), a leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider of critical event management and emergency notification systems, announced it has acquired Send Word Now, known for its enterprise notification solutions. The combined companies have rebranded as OnSolve.

Through this acquisition and ECN's 2016 acquisition of MIR3, OnSolve is uniquely positioned to address the accelerating demand for standalone software-based communications solutions, and notification and alerting functionality that can be integrated directly into other critical business systems, according to the company.

Fueled by an increasingly complex threat landscape and need for reliable risk management and business continuity solutions, the Emergency Mass Notification Services (EMNS) market was $2.2 billion at the end of 2015 and expanding at a 17% compound annual growth rate to $4.9 billion by 2020, as estimated by Frost & Sullivan. The merger of Send Word Now into the OnSolve product set extends the company's market leadership position and accelerates its ability to capture this projected growth in demand, the company stated.

The acquisition brings together Send Word Now's enterprise-class emergency notification system, capable of transmitting tens of thousands of voice and text messages in minutes, with ECN's advanced emergency communication platform for real-time notification and response. With last year's acquisition of MIR3 and its ability to enrich enterprise solutions and software with multi-channel and real-time communication functions, OnSolve customers now have a single provider capable of meeting all current and future needs.

"Real-time emergency notification with confirmed delivery and specific response functionality can mean the difference between life and death, significantly reduce costs and damages, and improve revenue and efficiency for customers," said Wain Kellum, OnSolve CEO. "The combined company serves the majority of the Fortune 500, including 72 of the top 100, and tens of thousands of smaller organizations. Our broad solution offering and experience makes us uniquely positioned to help enterprise, government, and small- and medium-sized business organizations meet evolving business challenges and threats through proven, robust, and innovative emergency and mass notification solutions. We have the resources to invest in our platform, bring together the best software features from each company and meet the evolving market demands."

"We are excited about joining forces with ECN under the OnSolve name to continue leading the industry," said Tony Schmitz, CEO at Send Word Now. "Providing the best advanced critical communications and emergency notification systems to our global customer base is our shared goal as we continue to innovate and push for excellence together. I am thrilled and proud to have played a role, alongside my many colleagues, in the success of Send Word Now. With the additional resources available through OnSolve, we will accelerate innovation, deepen customer relationships, and expand strategic partnerships."
