Bomb Squad Called to Gettysburg Battlefield Visitor Center Over Suspicious Package

A Pennsylvania State Police bomb squad was called to the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor Center over a “suspicious package” Tuesday morning.

The package was found by an employee around 7 a.m. The visitor center was reopened around 11 a.m. after police gave the all clear, ABC27 reports.

“This type of situation really comes down to the safety of the visitor and the employees, and that’s really the most consequential thing that we’re taking into account,” said Jason Martz with the National Park Service.

Officials have not disclosed what was inside the package.
