A Baltimore police officer on a stakeout was wounded Monday when a man opened fire on an unmarked car. The shooter is dead and the officer, who returned fire, is in good condition.
Police said the incident occurred at 9:41 a.m. as officers on the Warrant Apprehension Task Force were conducting surveillance on a domestic violence suspect, WBAL reports.
"We know he has a gunshot wound to the upper thigh, but he is in good condition, alert and talking and in good spirits," Commissioner Michael Harrison said.

Harrison said the officers had body-worn cameras but given that they were conducting surveillance, it is unknown if they were wearing the cameras or if they were on.
