Baker Ballistics To Introduce Tactical Rifle Shield

Baker Ballistcs is introducing its Mobile Rifle Armor Protective Shield (MRAPS) for active-shooter response that's rated for rifle calibers, according to the company.

The ballistic shield weighs only 17.6 pounds and provides 4.2 square feet of coverage.

The ballistic shield is light enough to carry in one arm while providing the operator the capability to deliver accurate center-line firepower using a military or law enforcement style long-gun while on the move.

Produced from military grade composite armor, the shield protects against a "wide range of rifle threats," according to the company. It can withstand multiple hits.

It employs a bungee/lanyard system for the operator.

The shield will be available at U.S. Armor Booth #20463 during SHOT, which opens Tuesday.
