Honolulu Police Chief Announces Retirement

Chief Arthur J. Logan joined the Honolulu Police Department in 1982.

The Honolulu Police Department has announced that Chief Arthur “Joe” Logan will be retiring at the end of June.

Logan, the 12th chief of the Honolulu PD joined the department in 1982, according to his biography on the HPD website.

He left the HPD in 2002 for full-time service in the Hawaii Army National Guard, achieving the rank of major general. He also served as adjutant general for the state of Hawaii.

Logan was named chief of the Honolulu PD in 2022.

In a statement Logan said crime went down in the city and the HPD moved forward during his tenure as chief.

“I would like to thank our sworn and civilian employees for all that they do,” Logan said.
