Pennsylvania Troopers Make Record Number of DUI Arrests

As part of its efforts to keep Pennsylvania's highways safe for all travelers, State Police last year arrested 15,583 people for driving under the influence, a 3 percent increase over the number arrested for DUI in 2007, and the highest total for a single year in the department's history, State Police Commissioner Jeffrey B. UNC Murder Suspect Pleads Guilty to Parole Violation

A lawyer for the man accused of killing UNC student leader Eve Carson told a judge today that his client did not know he was on probation at the time of Carson's death. Damario Atwater, 21, pleaded guilty today to violating his probation on break-in and gun charges. Superior Court Judge Ripley Rand activated what had been probationary sentences, meaning Atwater will serve 20 to 35 months in prison.
