TREXPO West Showstoppers

There were some pretty cool products at TREXPO West. And not just for SWAT officers, either. Every department could use updated training equipment and vehicles. If your agency doesn't already have these items, add them to that wish list you keep at your desk.

LDV builds each vehicle, like this command center, to meet the specs of its clients.

Super Sight

The DOCTERsight, from PMC Ammunition's sister company BC Outdoors, is a floating sight you can view with both eyes open.

The DOCTERsight is available in two models, both of which can be used on a handgun, shotgun, or rifle. The dot of the #55701 model covers approximately 3.5 inches at 100 yards, while the model #55711 dot covers approximately 7 inches at 100 yards. A light sensor automatically adjusts the brightness of the red dot to ambient light, reducing intensity in low light, and increasing it for better visibility in bright conditions.

Specialty Vehicles

LDV creates mobile command and special service vehicles to fit individual agency specifications. So you won't end up with extra stuff you don't need, just the stuff you know you want.

The Mattman Co. specializes in extremely technical command centers with rugged construction. But the company's expertise doesn't end there. Mattman creates a variety of vehicles, including surveillance vans, tactical units, bomb/arson trucks, and mobile labs.

Ultimate Police Vehicles creates modular units to fit into standard size pickup truck beds so you can create a vehicle to fit your agency's needs. The K-9 module accommodates a dog on a removable flat plastic floor, as well as prisoners in a separate compartment. Other modules are designed for animal control and drug interdiction.

Training Suits

When you want to spar without causing pain, use training suits.

FIST Inc. creates soft padded foam suits that are safe for both the target and the attacker. You can pummel a FIST suit with bare knuckles and batons without harming the wearer. Because of this, they are great for hand-to-hand combat training.

RedMan training suits from Macho Products are made of hard plastic so you know nothing's going to get through to the wearer. The suits now have thinner foam and thicker plastic to allow for greater mobility.

Training Dummies

These dummies aren't just pillows in clothing. The newest dummies have been created to seem lifelike, so you'll get the best training possible.

MAD ROBOT by Dummies Unlimited is a remote controlled live target you can use on the range or in other training environments. The acronym MAD ROBOT stands for "Multi-Purpose All-Terrain Deployable Remote Operated Ballistic Optimizing Target." You can purchase modifications such as an extra torso that can be affixed to simulate hostage situations or a chassis with larger wheels to cover rugged terrain.

TEX by ProLine is a dummy that possesses realistic joints and can even exert pressure against an attacker to enhance realism. When attached to the Power Training Machine (PTM), TEX can measure officers' abilities to apply and control directional forces. TEX has a realistic weight and feel so you can accurately practice takedowns and throws without throwing your partner through a wall.
