Oklahoma City police have released a video of a May 1 officer-involved shooting in which the officer shot at his alleged attacker through the windshield of his patrol vehicle.
Officer Samuel Flowers was driving south on Martin Luther King Blvd. on his way to a disturbance call, when a car ran into his cruiser. Video released by police on Tuesday shows the drive of that car appears to have intentionally rammed the police vehicle.
The police vehicle was rammed head-on and both vehicles were disabled, Fox reports.
Video then shows a man, later identified by authorities as 37-year-old Quinton Pace, exit his car and start firing at Officer Flowers. Police say Flowers returned fire, shooting through his vehicles windshield and window with his patrol rifle and ending the attack.
Both Pace and Officer Flowers were taken to the hospital and treated for their injuries. Both have since been released. The officer was injured in the crash but not hit by gunfire. The suspect was hit and the wound was not life threatening.
