A man who had barricaded himself inside an apartment in Hingham, MA, and opened fire on officers inside an armored vehicle was safely taken into custody after a brief standoff.
According to WCVB-TV, two other persons were inside the apartment at the outset of the incident. One managed to escape before police arrived while the other hid in a separate room from where the gunman was located and was safely extracted by responding SWAT officers.
No police officers were struck by gunfire and no shots were fired by police at the scene.
