A marine officer with the Fort Meyers (FL) Police Department leaped from his patrol boat to the dock just seconds before another vessel crashed into it.

A marine officer with the Fort Myers (FL) Police Department leaped from his patrol boat to the dock just seconds before another vessel crashed into it.

According to NBC News, the other boater lost control as he was attempting to bring the boat to the dock, accelerating suddenly into the police boat.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission investigated the crash and cited the boat's driver for the careless operation of a vessel.
