A Florida Highway Patrol Trooper on patrol saw what he thought was an unmarked law enforcement vehicle at a traffic stop. He observed a Jeep Grand Cherokee displaying flashing red and white lights on the windshield, about to perform the stop in the parking lot of a check cashing store.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Trooper Geoffrey Pubillones “did a U-turn to get into the Amscot parking lot where the traffic stop was about to happen.”

The Jeep’s driver — 32-year-old Angel Manuel Garcia — switched off his emergency lights and attempted to drive away.

Pubillones pulled Gardia over, and quickly discovered that was not a police officer.

Garcia faces charges of impersonating an officer and using or displaying a firearm during a felony.
