A man and woman were arrested Sunday night in a neighborhood off Tully Road and McLaughlin Avenue in San Jose, Calif., after they reportedly tried to run over an officer and rammed a police car before ditching their vehicle and eluding capture for nearly three hours, reports the Mercury News.

According to San Jose police, officers in the gang-suppression unit tried to stop a car near Story Road and McLaughlin around 6:25 p.m. Instead of yielding, the driver drove toward an officer who was on foot, forcing the officer to get out of the way. The driver later rammed a police car before both occupants fled on foot. No injuries were reported, police said.

Around 9:45 p.m. the pair was found in a backyard and apprehended with the help of a police dog.
