Calif. Man Injures Police Dog During Pursuit

Timothy Edward Busby, 41, a probationer, was booked into the Presley Detention Center in Riverside for investigation of reckless driving while evading a peace officer, second-degree burglary, harming a dog used by a police officer and probation violation, reports the Riverside Press Enterprise.

Officers initiated a pursuit of Busby from a shopping center that reached speeds exceeding 100 mph on Highway 91. Officers caught up with Busby after he crashed his car. A K-9 latched onto Busby, who dragged the dog to his vehicle, where he assaulted it. The dog is expected to recover.
