The trio of Santa Clara County (Calif.) Sheriff's deputies who encountered Shareef Allman this morning fatally shot him a day after his workplace rampage. Allman was holding a handgun, while crouching behind a car in a Sunnyvale neighborhood.

Apparently, Allman, 49, believed he was the victim of discrimination at work. He had recently been transferred to the night shift. During a shift change on Wednesday morning, he opened fire on his co-workers.

Also on Saturday, Allman visited a friend in Sacramento and showed off a newly purchased AK-47 that he said he planned to use at work. Following the shooting, multiple law enforcement agencies searched for Allman in a wide-ranging manhunt.
