Ohio Officer Thwarts Second Walgreens Robbery

The first robbery occurred at earlier in the morning, at 2:15 a.m., at the Salem Avenue pharmacy. Campbell entered the store at 5:45 a.m.

A Dayton (Ohio) Police officer entered a Walgreens drugstore Thursday morning to pick up surveillance footage from a robbery earlier that morning to thwart a second robbery, reports the Dayton Daily News.

Officer Joshua Campbell drew his weapon and ordered 55-year-old Donald Cotton to the ground. Cotton, as seen in store surveillance footage, had reached over the counter into the open till.

The two scuffled, before Campbell was able to subdue Cotton. The officer was an a disadvantage and needed to re-holster his duty weapon to gain compliance.
