Thousands of tourists and theater goers were evacuated from Times Square on Saturday evening, when the NYPD discovered an exposive device inside a Nissan Pathfinder SUV that was in the process of detonating, the New York Times reports.

The vehicle's license plate did not match the Pathfinder. Instead, it was registered to a Ford that had arrived at a junkyard in Connecticut.
