Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca is considering moving hundred of administrative deputies to patrol duties, cut overtime pay and downsize the Pitchess Detention Center, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The move would require the transfer of hundreds of inmates from the nothern Los Angeles County corrections facility that has 1,900 beds.

Baca's cuts, which were outlined Tuesday, would represent a 9 percent cut of the department's $1.3-billion annual general fund budget.
