VIDEO: Arizona Sheriff's Agency to Test Less-Lethal Pistol
The Pinal County (AZ) Sheriff's Office is the first U.S. law enforcement agency to adopt the Defenzia M-09 less-lethal handgun, which fires rubber bullets and other types of rounds.
Sheriff Paul Babeu says the Defenzia could be used in a variety of situations that don't require lethal response.
The gun is accurate at up to 70 feet and uses a laser sight. It won't kill a suspect, but the company that makes it says it will leave a heck of a mark, Fox 10 TV reports.
"Not only pain compliance, but stopping power, it would be like a baseball bat impact," said Leo Gitirana with Defenzia.
