A Maryland man who allegedly smoked PCP held his mother at gunpoint and exchanged fire with Prince George's County Police officers, before stealing a police cruiser and leading officers on a pursuit.
The incident began at 10:20 p.m. Thursday, when Antoinette Ayers called 911 to report her son had smoked PCP and "needs to go to the hospital."
Andre McKoy, 21, held Ayers at gunpoint when the first officer arrived at the scene. McKoy and the officer exchanged fire, after McKoy broke away. Despite being hit with rounds from the officer's shotgun, McKoy ran onto a highway, where other officers fired TASERs and service weapons at him.
He stole a police cruiser at the scene and was apprehended after crashing into a brick wall. MyFoxDC obtained cellphone video footage of the cruiser theft.
