Maricopa County (Ariz.) Sheriff Joe Arpaio and actor Steven Seagal teamed up Saturday to provide active-shooter response training to the civilian posse that has begun guarding Phoenix-area schools.
Arpaio and Seagal guided posse members through a simulated school shooting on Saturday in Fountain Hills. MCSO deputies played the parts of the shooters, and posse members used rifles and handguns that fired blanks, reports KTVK.
A group showed up to protest Arpaio's school protection plan, and state lawmaker called Seagal's involvement a mockery.
"Anybody who has criticized me or the sheriff for standing up to help the children, in my opinion, is an embarrassment to the human race," Seagal told ABC News.
