VIDEO: 3 Fla. Cops Fired for Ducking Calls

Three Miami-Dade Police officers have been fired after an internal affairs investigation found them ducking calls to go shopping, meet a girlfriend, and drink Cuban coffee.

The officers were members of a squad assigned to patrol a large swath of Kendall. Internal affairs detectives followed them and caught them on surveillance video in 2010. Investigators even used tracking devices on the officers' cars to catalog their movements, reports CBS Miami.

Officer Dario Socarras twice ignored calls so he could meet his girlfriend at the Dadeland Mall. He also met Officer Jose Huerta and Sgt. Jennifer Gonzalez for coffee. Sgt. Gonzalez, who supervised the squad, ducked calls to shop at Lowe's, Target, and Kohl's.

Three other squad members—Officers Jeffrey Price, Fabian Owens, and Ivan Tomas—were suspended without pay in September and are back on the job, reports the Miami Herald.
