The Chicago PD will administer the written test for potential recruits following a Sept. 16 deadline for possible employment. Superintendent Garry McCarthy said Friday he hopes to get 30,000 applicants, reports the Chicago Tribune.

This year, the agency lowered the eligible age to 18 from 21. The maximum age is 40.
