Fired Speeding Miami Cop Wants Job Back

The Miami Police officer who was fired after a Florida trooper pulled him over for speeding says the chief promised he wouldn't be fired. Officer Fausto Lopez, 36, spoke publicly Tuesday at an arbitration hearing to determine if he should be rehired.

Officer Fausto Lopez, 36, spoke publicly Tuesday at an arbitration hearing to determine if he should be rehired, reports the Sun-Sentinel. Lopez was fired a year ago for a pattern of reckless driving. He was clocked driving 120 mph on the Florida Turnpike by a trooper in October of 2011.

Chief Manuel Orosa called Lopez "the Michael Jordan of speeding."
