S.A.B.L.E. Executive Director Named to Homeland Security Post

Dan Corsentino, the executive director of Silver State Helicopters' Specialized Airborne Law Enforcement (S.A.B.L.E.) program, has been appointed to the Homeland Security Advisory Council Emergency Responders Senior Advisory Committee. In his new post, Corsentino will provide advice and recommendations with regard to homeland security issues.

Dan Corsentino, the executive director of Silver State Helicopters' Specialized Airborne Law Enforcement (S.A.B.L.E.) program, has been appointed to the Homeland Security Advisory Council Emergency Responders Senior Advisory Committee. In his new post, Corsentino will provide advice and recommendations with regard to homeland security issues.

"This is a great honor," says Corsentino. "I look forward to serving as a council member and am anxious to take on my new responsibilities."

During his tenure with S.A.B.L.E, Corsentino oversaw the creation of cost-effective alternatives for law enforcement agencies by providing fully equipped, staffed helicopters on a contract basis. S.A.B.L.E. helicopters aided on numerous rescue operations nationwide, including Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita.

"We are proud to have Dan as a part of the Silver State Helicopters team," says Jerry Airola, president of Silver State Helicopters. "His new role with Homeland Security is sure to render positive outcomes on communities across the county."

Additional highlights of Corsentino’s illustrious career include the completion of the National Federal Bureau of Investigation Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar and graduation from the National FBI Academy (172nd session), both in Quantico, Va. A Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government Senior Executive Management program graduate, Corsentino also received a Master's degree in public administration and a Bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Colorado.

 

Currently, Corsentino serves on a variety of committees with the National Sheriffs' Association, including the Congressional Affairs Committee, Ethics Committee, Constitution and By-Laws Committee, and is presently the chairman of the Native American Indian Affairs Committee. He has been the recipient of numerous awards and was the longest serving sheriff in Pueblo County in Colorado.
