Cellular Specialties Inc. (CSI) introduced its DSP95 Digital Repeater 250 Series at the International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE) earlier this week.
The digital repeater's adoption has been accelerated by the popularity of smartphones as a primary communication source and the need to stay connected to service providers' networks within buildings and sprawling campus environments.
According to Canalys, in 4Q 2009, global smartphone shipments reached 53.7 million and 101.2 million in 4Q 2010. The rapid adoption of these devices has accelerated the need for ubiquitous connectivity — deep inside buildings, throughout below-ground parking garages and offices, as well as sprawling campus environments where cell signals are weak.
CSI's DSP95 modular digital repeater amplifies a carrier's weak signals, allowing smartphone users to stay connected to voice and video services.
CSI's DSP95 offers multiple frequencies, custom pass-band filters, output power options, rack- or wall-mount capabilities, and numerous port configurations. The amplifier easily accommodates up to two frequency bands including: Cellular 850, PCS 1900, LTE Lower A/B/C, LTE Upper C, AWS, and SMR 800. Additionally, the high power digital repeaters:
- Eliminate the need for additional configuration hardware with multiple input and output port options
- Provide all monitoring and control options - locally or remotely
- Support SNMP for seamless integration with Network Management Systems
- Offer web-based interface GUI allowing for effortless set up, monitoring, and the ability to manage add-on products all via a standard web browser
