Thomson Reuters CLEAR, Forensic Logic/Coplink Plan Data Alliance

Thomson Reuters CLEAR and Forensic Logic/Coplink announced their intention to integrate their respective information and analysis capabilities to provide expansive information access to law enforcement professionals across the United States.

Thomson Reuters CLEAR and Forensic Logic/Coplink have announced their intention to integrate their respective information and analysis capabilities to provide expansive information access to law enforcement professionals across the United States.

Under the arrangement, investigative data from CLEAR would be available to Forensic Logic/Coplink's secure national network of law enforcement agencies and officers through its search engine and analysis platforms. The combined capabilities would allow law enforcement to better access and utilize information across agencies, geographies, and systems, according to the company.

"The alliance of CLEAR and Forensic Logic/Coplink would bring together some of the most trusted and widely-used investigative tools in law enforcement into one platform," said Steve Rubley, managing director of Thomson Reuters Government business. "Local, state, tribal, campus and federal law enforcement agencies would have an unmatched information-sharing environment that would provide additional information to serve and keep their communities safer."

"We could not be more pleased and honored to be working with Thomson Reuters, whose reputation, capabilities and team are the finest in the industry," said Brad Davis, president of Forensic Logic. "We are deeply gratified to be working with a partner who shares our belief that a collaborative network of users and information is necessary to allow our nation's law enforcement professionals to better serve and protect the public."

News of the relationship follows the announcement last week of Forensic Logic's acquisition of Coplink from IBM. Coplink is a national network of law enforcement information and professionals, relied upon daily by thousands of law enforcement agencies across the United States.
