Sikhs Honor Officer Wounded During 2012 Temple Massacre
A Maryland-based Sikh organization has honored retired police officer Brian Murphy of the Oak Creek (Wis.) Police Department for his service when a gunman killed six worshippers at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin. During the incident, Murphy was shot 12 times.

Sikh Temple Cop Wins Chudwin Patrol Rifle Award
Oak Creek (Wis.) Police Officer Savan "Sam" Lenda will be honored as the 2013 winner of the Chudwin Award for Patrol Rifle Excellence for his role in ending the Sikh Temple shooting.. Officer Lenda will be honored at the National Patrol Rifle Conference and Competition in Detroit from June 2-4.
