Chrysler Adds Ambush Detection System to 2017 Charger Pursuit
The Officer Protection Package is designed to increase an officer’s situational awareness when parked and working inside the vehicle. The package uses the Charger Pursuit’s ParkSense rear park assist system and ParkView rear backup camera to alert an officer if anyone is behind the vehicle.

The Orange County (Calif.) Sheriff's Department issued 1962 Chrysler Newport sedans that offered deputies a 5.9-liter, V-8 (361 CID) rear-wheel powertrain with push button transmission. The engine was rated at 265 hp.

Classic Chrysler Patrol Cars
Chrysler has been producing Plymouth or Dodge patrol cars since the early 1930s, and for many of those early years Plymouth turned out some special cars for police work. The earliest came when the Washington State Patrol began using a 1932 Plymouth 1932 PB coupe, according to AllPar.com. Chrysler offered its first police package on 1956 Dodge Coronets. The 1970s brought the era of Mopar squads.
