Georgia's Board of Pardons and Paroles is now meeting to determine whether to grant clemency to Troy Anthony Davis or allow his execution set for Wednesday to go forward as planned. Davis sits on death row for the 1989 murder of an off-duty Savannah police officer, Mark Allen MacPhail.

So far, Gov. Brown has upheld 207 of the parole board's 253 decisions to release convicted killers, as a response to the U.S. Supreme Court's mandate to the state reduce overcrowded prison populations.
